SYNO is one of R&M's end-to-end FTTx connection products, which can manage up to 1,152 joint connections, and has a gel cold seal and modular cable entry

Milpitas, California, October 12, 2021/PRNewswire/ - R&M, a global active developer and supplier of high-quality network infrastructure cabling systems, today launched the SYNO dome enclosure, which is a kind of application New outdoor closed solution network based on North American Optical Fiber.

The SYNO dome is one of R&M USA's FTTx portfolio products, which can be integrated into the end-to-end FTTx connection from the central office to the end user site. SYNO dome closure devices are available in three models-288F, 576F and 1,152F, suitable for single or crimpable optical cables.

The SYNO dome closure can help network operators flexibly deploy and modify their infrastructure with as few restrictions as possible.

The SYNO dome cover has a modular system for cable entry, eliminating the burdensome task of threading fiber optic cables through the cover base. It also eliminates the use of shrink tubing for time-consuming sealing. In contrast, the integrated block seal joint made of R&M's SYNO gel is closed.

The innovative and highly modular SYNO gel technology used by R&M sets a new standard for mechanical cold sealing of bottle caps. When the cable entry is sealed, the gel surrounds each cable to prevent dust and moisture from entering. The fluctuating temperature, mechanical load or water pressure will not damage the dome cover in any way. The gel block integrated in the cable entry kit is also easy to open and replace, can be resealed and provides long-term stability.

The SYNO dome-enclosed modular cable entry completely changes the assembly process for FTTx applications outside the factory and simplifies maintenance during operation. The cable entry allows network operators to develop tailor-made deployment plans in a short period of time and integrate new fiber capacity or routing at any time without the need to replace closures or open existing connectors.

The SYNO cable entry is placed horizontally in eight radially arranged compartments in the closed duct. The cable entry kits are interchangeable and support any desired configuration and hybrid assembly of cables and micropipes. In just a few simple steps, the cable entry can be opened, closed, replaced and modified. Cable troughs and separate cables are still free to use, so that the dome enclosure can be modified or additional fiber optic cables can be installed during network operation.

"The SYNO dome enclosure meets the requirements of network operators, who prefer to deploy and modify infrastructure flexibly with as few restrictions as possible. The flexibility of this modular outdoor solution is unique; it supports typical application requirements, mixed Topology and cable type modern fiber optic network. SYNO product features are based on R&M's years of experience in cooperation with global FTTx customers," said Aslam Zuberi, R&M North American FTTx marketing manager.

Inside the SYNO dome cover is R&M's single-loop management system, which has an expandable tray and the most effective optical fiber management technology. R&M offers eight different cable entry kits, suitable for configurations ranging from one to two, four and eight to 16 cables, optimized for typical cable diameters, covering 1 mm (0.04") to 28 Millimeter (1.1") cable diameter and micropipes up to 14 mm (0.55 inches). This modular dome closure concept is suitable for almost any application, such as distribution, branch or cable joint closure. The bend radius of 40 mm is very gentle on the optical fiber and can be guaranteed regardless of the packing density.

R&M's SYNO dome cover is immediately available in North America. For more information, please visit SYNO Dome Enclosure-R&M (rdm.com) or send an email to R&M at [email protected].
