OpSens’ MEMS-based fiber optic pressure sensor OPP-M is designed to measure physiological pressure in animals and humans.

These tiny 0.20 mm OD sensors are intended for use in catheters, guidewires, and other devices that identify physiological pressure in a minimally invasive manner. Its novel, patent-pending design reduces thermal zero shift and moisture-induced drift.

Clients who require a very compact size or want to create unique sensor packaging in-house for their products should consider the bare optical pressure sensors.

The OpSens OPP-M200 is ready for integration. Based on the OEM applications required by customers, encapsulation can be implemented to the sensor tip and/or the complete optical cable in a range of materials and sizes.

OpSens’ dedicated OEM team works with users to customize for their needs, reduce R&D costs, and tackle integration challenges, which reduces the overall cost of production and commercialization.

By incorporating Opsens WLPI signal conditioning technology (patent #7,259,862) with the obvious advantages of fiber optic, the OpSens OPP-M outlines the medical industry’s need for long-term precision, low-drift, reproducibility, and high fidelity pressure measurements in the existence of tough EM, MR, RF, and microwave areas.

NOTE: The FDA or any other relevant regulatory body has not approved the OPP-M product, however, it is aimed to be integrated into customer host systems.
