Watch: Mayor Gunter criticizes contractor for destroying fiber optic installation

San Angelo, Texas - At the city council meeting on Tuesday, Mayor Gunter said she was very dissatisfied with the cleanup work done by fiber optic cable installers throughout the town.

In the public comment section of the San Angelo City Council meeting on December 7, Mayor Brenda Gunter asked San Angelo City Operations Manager Shane Kelton about the fiber optic cables being installed across the city.

Throughout the city, fiber optic companies such as Frontier are installing nearly 50 miles of fiber optic cable. Most of the installations are located on city roads in front of citizens' homes.

As people’s front yards were damaged, Mayor Gunter expressed disappointment with the installation process.

"I think if you own the property on the right of way in the city and spend money and time to beautify it, you obviously know that it is the right of way, but do we want them to leave it there ugly?" Mayor Gunter said. "When you are in a residential area, I can't imagine the expectation is to leave five to ten feet of ugliness, and then create a landscape program."

Kelton explained that the property will be restored after installation, but only the property portion of the city will be secured.

"Any citizen who puts anything on the right of public way runs the risk of it being damaged or even unable to be put back in place. I was told that Frontier and their subcontractor Housley will continue to work throughout the project and replace it as much as possible. To restore it to its original state." Kelton said. "We do have an inspector behind them to make sure they put the city's assets back to where they were, but we have no way to force them to put back the assets of public citizens."

The conversation ended with the city council requesting the publicity staff of the city communications department to install optical fibers in different areas.

Therefore, the city is taking the best thing ever to try to shut down Suddenlink, and then express its dissatisfaction with someone digging out a little fresh soil in the yard by the side of the road, but it’s okay that they made the street even a cow. Something used as a cow road...Are we a little arrogant? ??

This may be the only time I agree with your Doc 100%. Gunter may have been acquired by shuntinglink.

'A bit of freshly dug dirt' Doc? I saw the lawn four or five yards in front of the neighbor's house turned into a mud pit. If we don’t trim this area, the city will quote us, but there are still big rocks, barbed wire and steel bars that can damage the lawn mower and stay on the road not too right.

This is becoming a habit of this writer. These are direct references.

"Mayor Gunter stated that she was very upset..." "Mayor Gunter expressed his disappointment..."

If someone reads here without knowing who the mayor is... they will definitely be confused. Who are you proofreading? ?

No one in this "publication" knows what they are doing, the video is even horizontal.

Does she have stock in shuntinglink? The San Angelo game is a good thing. I am very happy that Frontier is installing fiber optics so that we can get rid of the stupid high price and sudden link fees! ! Maybe she should negotiate better prices for unexpected services. I have been using it for almost 12 years, and their prices are constantly rising, but the service new customers get is only half of what loyal customers pay! ! That's nonsense. In the next few weeks, I will leave Suddenly Link to Fiver. Brenda, San Angelo needs you to get better! !
