ATMC announced that they will start business with FOCUS Broadband in 2022. ATMC said in a press release that the name change was due to the company's evolution from a traditional telephone and cable TV provider to a provider of high-speed Internet services that specialize in optical fiber transmission. We believe that FOCUS Broadband more accurately reflects the development trend of our company because we use fiber optic broadband as our core service product to expand our business scope," CEO Keith Holden said in the press release.
The rebranding coincides with the launch of a multi-year project costing $100 million that will connect all members to their fiber-optic broadband in a new market in southeastern North Carolina. In addition to the new name, the company will also have a new logo and URL. FOCUSbroadband.com.
ATMC was established in 1955 as a telephone service cooperative that provides services to unserved rural areas in Brunswick County.
