HDMI 2.1 / DP 1.4 both are nearing the bandwidth allowed on thunderbolt 3 / 4 (40+gbps). So most normal usb-c devices / hubs / consoles will not be able to use it. These cables are thick and heavily shielded. Even normal gaming PC users will never touch this, not until many years down the road.. they only need 1080p 120hz.. normal hdmi 1.4 cables will do. So for people who want to enjoy this.. either they have a thunderbolt 3 / 4 equipped laptop .. or a high end graphics card.. and a crazy priced monitor that takes advantage of the specs.

hdmi is new usb hdmi 2.0 is now 2.1 , and most of selling point of newer hdmi is optional so we have search it what features its actually has .

CptPower, 14 hours agoHahahah looks gruesome. Soon the power will be so big we will need powerplant of size of Jup... more No joking, but in the future True Holographic displays need 1000-2500 times more resultion than 4k to output true glass free Hologram. But we are quadrupling resolution only one in very ten years, so by 2100 we can achieve them of billion of pixels. It's being made by a company called light Field, they say they have true Hologram display, and an unknown company called SAMSUNG has invested in them.

What's this 2.1a crap? Just simplify it and make it 2.2 No need to break it down further for every little change. They'll be at 3.0 before they ever reach 2.9 I'll bargain for device led if it improves latency. Having both modes is better for choice depending on the source

Nobody needs it. USB-C is sufficient, if not 2 ports with USB-C, 2 cables in parallel do the work, or better do it thin with optical fiber.

Hahahah looks gruesome. Soon the power will be so big we will need powerplant of size of Jupiter planet to handle it.
